  • Centre for Applied Biodiversity Science have an interest in the Eastern Arc Mountains.
  • The Chicago Field Museum - Bill Stanley has been working with biologists from the University of Dar-es-Salaam, and more recently Tanzania National Parks, on the small mammals (shrews, bats, rodents, elephant shrews) of the mountain regions of Tanzania. The major geographical emphasis of this research has been the Eastern Arc Mountains. Using a system of systematic surveys, Stanley and his colleagues are collecting material to document the natural history of these poorly known animals, as well as testing various hypotheses about the historical biogeography of the fauna. Results of these studies will provide critical information for the design of effective conservation strategies for the unique habitats of the Eastern Arc and other mountains of Tanzania.
  • The Critical Ecosystem Partnership Fund (CEPF) is funding conservation and research activities in the Eastern Arc Mountains and Coastal Forests of Tanzania and Kenya. Four organisations are working with CEPF to implement the investment programme in the Eastern Arc Mountains, these are:
    • TFCG - Tanzania Forest Conservation Group
    • WWF - East Africa Programme Office
    • ICIPE - International Centre for Insect Physiology and Ecology
    • Birdlife International - Africa Secretariat
  • Zoological Museum of Copenhagen - have an interest in the Eastern Arc Mountains.
  • MUSE – Science Museum of Trento - information on research and conservation programs started in the 1990's continuing today, in the Udzungwa Mountains and other areas in the Eastern Arc Mountain range

  • Missouri Botanical Gardens - have been working the the Eastern Arc Mountains undertaking plant conservation assessments.
  • Udzungwa Ecological Monitoring Centre - is a field station of the Udzungwa Mountains National Park (UMNP), Tanzania, established in 2006 through a partnership between Italy’s MUSE Science Museum of Trento and Tanzania National Parks (TANAPA).
  • Udzungwa Elephant Project - monitors and studies the ecology and behaviour of elephants in response to poaching, identifies important elephant corridors, and seeks ways of reducing conflict between farmers and elephants.
  • University of York and KITE - The York Institute for Tropical Ecosystems was established in 2005 and originally centred on the Eastern Arc Mountains.
